SUBJECT:
Approval of travel for Commissioner Alexander to attend the Florida League of Cities Annual Conference in Orlando, FL on August 13-15, 2015 in the total amount of $1,420.86.
SUMMARY:
The 89th Annual Conference of the Florida League of Cities will be held August 13-15, 2015, at the Orlando World Center Marriott Hotel in Orlando. This year’s conference theme — Florida Cities: A Public Conversation — will explore, among many other areas of interest, the importance of public input and public access within cities. This year’s theme will inspire you to find new ways to interact with the public.
This conference will also set the FLC legislative priorities for next year. With the 2016 legislative session staring in January, the League’s five legislative policy committees will be finalizing their legislative priority issues at this conference. The League’s membership will then vote on the 2016 Legislative Action Agenda at Saturday’s Business Session on August 15.
