SUBJECT:
Approval for 10th Street Drainage and Roadway Emergency Repairs in an amount not to exceed $153,192.00.
SUMMARY:
The 10th Street Roadway between Plymouth Avenue and Virginia Avenue has failed with portions of the roadway with sinkholes and roadway deterioration. Video investigation of the roadway shows that there are numerous pipe failures that are causing sinkholes. Sinkholes are affecting drainage connections to Virginia Avenue, neighboring driveways and private properties. Repairs to the system require immediate attention and are time sensitive.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of emergency repairs through ongoing service contract with Johnson-Davis, Incorporated.
ALTERNATIVES:
Delay repairs and advertise for bid proposals.
