SUBJECT:

Legislative Hearing - Ordinance No. 22-005 Rezoning the property generally located at or near the southeastern interchange of Seaway Drive and North U.S. Highway 1 from Marine Commercial Zone (C-6) to General Commercial Zone (C-3). Second Reading

SUMMARY:

  • In accordance with Sections 125-37 and 125-133 of the City Code, the applicant is requesting the review and approval of a Zoning Atlas Amendment (Rezoning) from Marine Commercial Zone (C-6) to General Commercial Zone (C-3).
  • The .11-acre subject property is the only parcel south of Seaway Drive on North U.S. Highway 1 that is zoned C-6, which is a marine-oriented zoning category. The parcels located north of Seaway Drive consist of uses that complement the Port of Fort Pierce, other water dependent uses and the Indian River Lagoon. Adjoining the subject property to the south are traditional commercial uses.
