SUBJECT:
Approval of a lease agreement with the Sunrise Humane Society with an initial term running from April 1, 2022 to September 30, 2023, with four 1-year renewal options.
SUMMARY:
- Original lease agreement with the Sunrise Humane Society (SHS) was initiated on 3/1/2021. We are into the first of the 1-year renewal periods.
- The lease includes provisions for providing services to St. Lucie County, which have been eliminated from the new lease.
- Certain provisions regarding the use of the facility, the monthly rent, inspections and utilities, were amended based upon experiences and challenges faced during the inaugural lease term.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approving the new lease as presented.

Amend the proposed lease terms.
