SUBJECT:

Authorize the Mayor, City Clerk and City Attorney to take all necessary actions to transfer the property held by the city for the use and benefit of Fort Pierce Utilities Authority in accordance with Resolution 22-R26 following the required advertisement.

SUMMARY:

The City Commission of the City of Fort Pierce, Florida, pursuant to Section 13 of the City Charter, adopted Resolution 22-R26 on July 5, 2022 giving notice of its intent to transfer, by deed, certain real property purchased by the CITY for the use and benefit of  Fort Pierce Utilities Authority in 1991; and described as THE SOUTH ½ OF LOT 10 AND ALL OF LOT 11, BLOCK 7, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT OF CARLTON`S ADDITION TO FORT PIERCE, SECTION 10, T35S R40E, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED IN PLAT BOOK 1, PAGE 187, OF THE PUBLIC RECORDS OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA (MAP 24/10E), PART OF PARCEL ID #2410-701-0075-000-3 (the “Property”), to Paul A. Hemingway and Laurel Hemingway, in exchange for the purchase price of $40,000.00 and the conveyance to the CITY f/u/b/o FPUA, of ALL OF LOT 7, BLOCK 7, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT OF CARLTON’S ADDITION TO FORT PIERCE AFORESAID, as the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority and City of Fort Pierce have determined that the Property is no longer needed for public purpose.
 

RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize the conveyance.

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not proceed.
