SUBJECT:

Approval of the lease agreement between the Housing Authority of Fort Pierce and the City of Fort Pierce, for the premise is located at 2304 Avenue I (R.I.C.H. House). 

SUMMARY:

The Police Department is requesting approval of the lease agreement between the Fort Pierce Housing Authority and the City of Fort Pierce (Municipal Corporation) for the premises of 2304 Avenue I. This property is currently the site of the Fort Pierce Police Department’s Resources In Community Hope (R.I.C.H.) House.  The Lease Agreement will commence on September 16, 2022, and remain for a period of three years.  The Lease Agreement will terminate on September 15, 2026.  Consideration for the term of the lease is one dollar annually. 

The contract has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office and was approved for form and correctness.
 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this lease.

ALTERNATIVES:

The alternative is to deny the approval, which would close the R.I.C.H. House from further operation at this location.
