SUBJECT:
Approval of the agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County to Exchange Rights of Way.
SUMMARY:
The City of Fort Pierce has been in discussion with St. Lucie County regarding the exchange of certain rights of way in the Fisherman's Wharf area. The County provided a proposed exchange agreement, which was approved as to form and correctness on September 14, 2022. County and City staff have discussed additional revisions pertaining to: (1) The extension of the Fisherman's Wharf right of way and the cost-sharing provision. The specifics of the latter will be worked out via a separate interlocal agreement (ILA). The terms of the ILA will be determined during the feasibility period discussed in paragraph 2.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of agreement, which has been approved as to form and correctness by the City Attorney
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
