Approval to accept the proposal of Accurate Power and Technology in the amount of $59,382.54, in response to Bid Proposal 2023-034 - Electrical Services for the Installation of the Building Department Generator.

To better serve the public during and after a storm event, the Building Department published a bid for electrical services for the installation of an emergency generator.  Bid No 2023-034 was prepared and via Purchasing was sent to 146 vendors.  Eleven (11) vendors requested specifications, with two (2) responding (18.18%), plus 0 "No Bid" (18.18% total response).  The two offers in response to this bid were Zabatt Engine Services, Inc. of Jacksonville, FL with a total bid price of $56,254.16, and Accurate Power and Technology, Inc. of Eustis, FL in the amount of $59,382.54, who was chosen as the successful bidder.

Although the Accurate Power and Technology, Inc bid is slightly more, the justification for not going with the lowest bidder is that Accurate Power & Technology is offering a 2-year guarantee on work and materials; Zabatt Engine Services is only offering a 1-year guarantee on work and materials.  We feel that this is a substantial benefit for the 5.6% increase in total bid price.




 

The Building Department recommends approval of accepting the proposal of Accurate Power and Technology in the amount of $59,382.54 for electrical services for the installation of the Building Dept. generator.

Do not approve at this time.
