SUMMARY:
On November 15, 2023, the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County entered into an agreement for the exchange of certain rights-of-way. St. Lucie County agreed to convey to the City of Fort Pierce a right-of-way known as Indian River Drive from Avenue A to Seaway Drive. In exchange, the City of Fort Pierce agreed to convey to St. Lucie County the rights-of-way known as: Avenue M Extension; Fisherman’s Wharf from the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) right-of-way to its eastern terminus; Harbor Street; Port Avenue; North 2nd Street from Seaway Drive to its northern terminus; and North Indian River Drive from Seaway Drive to Fisherman’s Wharf. If approved, the proposed resolution would permit the execution of a deed transferring ownership of the City-owned rights-of-way and any other paperwork necessary to effectuate the transfer.
