Approval to piggyback Charlotte County Contract #2021000541 to three (3) 2023 Ford F-150 Super Cab 4x2 (upfitted as crime scene investigation support vehicles) and one (1) 2023 Ford F-150 Super Crew 4x4 (upfitted as an emergence operations commander vehicle) from Bartow Ford in the amount of $194,969.11.

The Police Department requests approval to lease four (4) Ford F-150 pick-up trucks.  This purchase is necessary to replace current vehicles with excessive mileage, wear, and tear.  This purchase request is for (3) 2023 Ford F-150 Super Cab 4x2 (upfitted as crime scene investigation support vehicles) and one (1) 2023 Ford F-150 Super Crew 4x4 (upfitted as an emergency operations commander vehicle) in the amount of $194,969.11.  These vehicles will be purchased from Bartow Ford (Bartow, FL) through Ford Credit Municipal Finance Leasing Program. 

This is a five (5) year lease program.  The purchase price for these vehicles was obtained from Charlotte County, FL contract Bid No. 2021-2733.  Charlotte County has previously authorized the Fort Pierce Police Department to "piggyback" their contract with Bartow Ford.  Pricing includes the vehicle, lighting package, siren, and all the other necessary police equipment.
 

Staff recommends approval of this request. 

The alternative is to deny this request and purchase these vehicles.
