SUBJECT:

Approval to award Bid 2023-044 Annual Street Resurfacing Contract to the lowest responsible bidder, The Paving Lady, in an amount not to exceed $4,179,259.69 over a three (3) year period.

SUMMARY:

As part of the Infrastructure Surtax commitment, each year the City pursues a contractor to perform resurfacing of various City streets.

Staff has reviewed the bids and recommends award to lowest, responsible bidder, The Paving Lady. A Bid Tabulation is attached.

This is a unit price contract and has a term of three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

The Estimated Total Value of this contract is $4,179,259.69 over a three (3) year period.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff is recommending approval of the Award for Bid #2023-044 Annual Street Resurfacing Contract to The Paving Lady.

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not award the contract. The City can re-advertise the project or seek out other "piggy back" contracts to use to complete the work.
