Surplus Property Redevelopment Update 727 S 11th St

SUBJECT:

Resolution 24-R01 addressing a request for an additional extension to comply with the terms of the Quit Claim Deed for 727 S.11th Street . 

SUMMARY:

City-owned surplus property located at 727 S. 11th Street was sold to KIB Construction Corp. for $8,000.00 on May 10, 2021, with a deed restriction indicating that the grantee was required to pour a foundation for residential construction on the property within two (2) years. The City Commission, at its meeting on July 17, 2023, approved the request to allow an additional 150 days to pour the foundation at the property, extending the deadline to December 14, 2023.

KIB Construction Corp. failed to meet that deadline and is requesting a 90-day extension from the previous deadline of December 14, 2023 to allow them to meet the foundation requirement. KIB Construction Corp. has obtained the building permit, has completed the density test and as of December 14, 2023 the forms were installed. They are waiting on the form survey to be completed before they can move forward to the underground plumbing and then pouring the foundation. 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
