SUBJECT:
Approval of Interlocal Funding Agreement with St. Lucie County for Homeless Services in the amount of $125,000.
SUMMARY:
As part of the effort to address homelessness in our community, St. Lucie County requested assistance from the municipal members of the St. Lucie Homeless Advisory Committee to support initiatives to provide housing services for our unsheltered population. The City of Fort Pierce responded by allocating $125,000 in the FY2024 budget to fund staffing as well as operational costs at the Housing HUB (24-bed shelter for adult men) and to expand services by developing a Women’s Facility. This Interlocal Funding Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County establishes a process for the distribution of the requested funding for FY 2024.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Interlocal Funding Agreement by and between St. Lucie County and the City of Fort Pierce for Homeless Services.
ALTERNATIVES:
Amend or deny the Interlocal Agreement.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The City will provide the County with the sum of $125,000 to be remitted to the Tresure Coast Homeless Services Council to fund staffing as well as operational costs at the Housing HUB and to expand services by developing a Women’s Facility. The City shall remit payment to the County within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the agreement.
