Approval of Change Order No. 1 for Specific Authorization 1 with Marlin Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $88,177.25 for the design of the Historic Downtown Fort Pierce Retrofit Trail - SUN Trail.

On September 24, 2021 Specific Authorization 1 to RFQ 2019-027 to Marlin Engineering, Inc.was approved. This SA No. 1 authorized Marlin to complete the design for the Historic Downtown Fort Pierce Retrofit Trail - SUN Trail. The design was halted at 30% complete due to conflicts along the proposed route and the project was put on hold in August 2022. A revised route for portions of the trail through Downtown Fort Pierce has been identified and staff requested Marlin to provide a scope and fee proposal to incorporate the changes. This proposal forms the basis for Change Order 1. The proposal includes survey, permitting, and updates to the preliminary design of the trail. 

Staff recommends approval of Change Order 1 to Marlin Engineering, Inc.

Deny and negotiate with another continuing service provider currently under contract with the City. This will cause a significant delay in project delivery.
