SUBJECT:
Approval of expenditure of $51,266.40 for the purchase of twelve (12) overt cameras in key areas throughout the redevelopment area.
SUMMARY:
The Fort Pierce Police Department is requesting FPRA funds in the amount of $51,266.40 to purchase 12 overt community security cameras at strategic locations throughout the redevelopment area. These locations include: Lincoln Park Community Center, Means Court, Moore's Creek Linear Park, St. Lucie County Intermodal Facility, Manatee Center, Marina Square, Jaycee Park, and Jetty Park.
The primary goal of the project is to deter criminal activities, enhance public safety, and provide law enforcement officers and staff with the tools needed to monitor community spaces effectively.
This initiative meets goal #23 in the FPRA Plan which is to "Improve public safety and perception of safety within the Redevelopment Area."
