SUBJECT:

Waive partial interest, penalties, and administrative fees in the amount of $149.42 for Lot Clearing Lien against 1708 Francis Court, Property ID #2401-506-0012-000-7, owned by Bruce F. Arnold, Sr, contingent upon payment of $100.00 within 60 days.

SUMMARY:

BACKGROUND:
The violations and lien were placed on Bruce F. Arnold Jr., who then transferred the property to his father Bruce F. Arnold, Sr. without revealing the existence of the fines. In 2015 Mr. Gary Vandenbos, a neighbor, became interested in purchasing the property and did a lien search that revealed the lien to Mr. Arnold Sr. 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends waiving the partial interest, penalties, and administrative fees of $149.42 leaving a balance due of $100.00 payable in 60 days.

Recommendation is based on:
  1. If Mr. VanDenbos purchases the property and satisfies the liens it will put the property in the hands of a local owner and resident who agrees to properly maintain the property and develop it to add value to the tax base and the community.

  1. Deny request.
  2. Determine alternative amount.
