SUBJECT:

Ordinance 16-021 Amending the Vehicles for Hire Ordinance.  FIRST READING

SUMMARY:

The Mayor and City Commission requested that staff evaluate the existing vehicles for hire ordinance.   A small workgroup reviewed other area ordinances, particularly St. Lucie County, in an attempt to develop consistent rules for operation of vehicles for hire within St. Lucie County.  The result is the attached ordinance for consideration which clarifies and standardizes the conditions for operation of vehicles for hire within city limits.

RECOMMENDATION:

Adopt Ordinance 16-021.

ALTERNATIVES:

Adopt with changes or leave existing ordinance in place.
