SUBJECT:
Approval of the FY 2017 Humane Society Contract in the amount of $130,000.00.
SUMMARY:
Approval of the annual contract with the Humane Society for animals impounded by the City of Fort Pierce. Contract highlights include:
- Flat rate fee of $130,000 for up to 1000 animals. This represents a 4% increase over FY 2016. This is the first increase in costs since FY 2012.
- Any animal in excess of 1000 will be billed at $130.00 per animal.
- Puppy and kitten litters (8 weeks old or less) will count as a single animal. Prior contracts only allowed for kitten litters.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the proposed contract.
