SUBJECT:

Resolution 25-R06 Authorizing the Lease of Space in City Hall to Brian Mast, United States Representative

SUMMARY:

On June 21, 2021, the City Commission approved a lease agreement with Congressman Mast for space at Fort Pierce City Hall. The agreement stipulated a monthly rental payment of $250 and was effective from July 1, 2021, until its expiration on January 2, 2023. The lease agreement included an option for renewal for an additional two years.

Subsequently, on December 19, 2022, the City Commission approved the two-year renewal of the lease agreement. The renewed lease commenced on January 3, 2023, and will expire on January 2, 2025.

Congressional Representative Brian Mast has requested an extension of his current lease that is set to expire on January 2, 2025. The proposed Lease Agreement is effective as of January 3, 2025, until expiration on January 2, 2027.  The monthly rental amount of $250 will remain the same.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends the adoption of the resolution leasing space at City Hall to Congressman Mast.

ALTERNATIVES:

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
