Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 25-005 - Amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Fort Pierce Chapter 111, Article II, Section 111-151 Delegation of Review Authority to revise the Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) approval Matrix. - SECOND READING

Section 111 - Historic Preservation of the City's Code of Ordinances contains a matrix which defines the parameters of staff authority to determine approval or rejection of a Certificate of Appropriateness.

A Certificate of Appropriateness is issued pursuant to this chapter, permitting specified alterations, demolition, new construction, or other work to a designated historic site or for a building within a designated historic district. The proposed amendment sets out the matrix and defines which categories of alteration can be processed at a staff level. The proposed amendments will streamline the processing of applications for COA's, saving time for applicants while retaining the protection of the City's Historic Districts.

Staff recommendation is for the City Commission to APPROVE the proposed amendment to the COA Approval Matrix.
