SUBJECT:
Moved from 8g to 8b. FPRA Resolution 25-08 Accepting the Western Peninsula Master Plan
SUMMARY:
FPRA Resolution No. 25-08 accepts the Fort Pierce Western Peninsula Master Plan as a conceptual framework for the future redevelopment of the Island Wastewater Treatment Plant site and surrounding areas. This plan was developed by the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council following extensive public engagement, a real estate market analysis, and a multi-day public design charrette held in October 2024.
The Master Plan outlines community-driven recommendations for revitalization of the western edge of the South Beach peninsula, including the current Island Wastewater Treatment Plant site, Causeway Cove Marina and RV Park, and adjacent public properties. This planning effort was initiated in anticipation of the plant’s relocation inland.
Adoption of this resolution formally acknowledges receipt of the plan but does not require or authorize immediate implementation. The plan will serve as a guide to inform future decisions and potential redevelopment strategies.
