Re
CRA Advisory Committee Recommendations for Mural Program Artist and Property Combinations
Submitted For:
Sara Delgado

SUBJECT:

Accept CRA Advisory Committee's recommendation for Selection of Artists and Properties for FY25 FPRA Mural Program as follows:  Jesse Jentzen for 130 N. 2nd Street (Sailfish) and Hannah Lorra for 610 Atlantic Avenue (Project Lift), in accordance with the new FPRA Mural Program structure adopted by the FPRA Board.

SUMMARY:

As part of the FPRA Mural Program, three property owners submitted applications for mural installations. Based on the budgeted program funding, two projects can be awarded this round.

On May 28, 2025, the CRA Advisory Committee reviewed all three property submissions and recommended the following two locations:

  • 130 N. 2nd Street (Sailfish)
  • 610 Atlantic Avenue (Project Lift)

A Call for Artists was then issued for these two sites, resulting in over 100 submissions. Staff screened applications for eligibility, and on June 25, 2025, the CRA Advisory Committee reviewed the proposals and recommended the following artists:

  • Jesse Jentzen for 130 N. 2nd Street
  • Hannah Lorra for 610 Atlantic Avenue
This process follows the new FPRA Mural Program structure adopted by the FPRA Board via FPRA Resolution 25-10.

Upon approval, staff will finalize agreements and return for final contract approval.
