SUBJECT:
Approval of the Amendment to the grant agreement between the State of Florida, the Department of State and the City of Fort Pierce extending the grant period for the Highwaymen Museum project to December 31, 2025.
SUMMARY:
The renovations to the Jackie Caynon, Sr. Building at the Highwaymen Museum are nearing completion, with the final inspection scheduled to be completed May 23, 2025. There are four outstanding change orders related to external site work that remain under review and require City approval. Due to these pending approvals, an extension of the grant period is being requested. This extension would extend the grant deadline to December 31, 2025, ensuring sufficient time to finalize the change orders and complete the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Amendment to the extension of the grant period for the Highwaymen Museum project.
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
