SUBJECT:
Approval of First Amendment to Reconstruction Agreement with All Digital All Day to remove the existing billboard at 7049 Okeechobee Rd and construct a replacement sign.
SUMMARY:
On July 1, 2024, the City Commission approved Resolution 24-R37 which authorized the execution of a Reconstruction Agreement with All Digital All Day to remove the existing billboard at 7049 Okeechobee Rd and construct a replacement sign. The contractor had a problem when they were installing the support pole for the sign, and they were unable to reach the correct depth. To compensate for the depth, the contractor cut the sign structure short, so the new sign is only 51 feet high instead of 55 feet, leaving one face blocked by the Marathon sign. They are now requesting to increase the height to 65 feet with this amended and restated agreement.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the First Amendment to the Reconstruction Agreement be approved.
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed.
