SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 25-030 Amending Chapter 103, Article II Building Code, and Amending Chapter 109, Article I Floodplain Management. SECOND READING
SUMMARY:
All floodplain management ordinances must be coordinated with the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM). Recent changes to FDEM and FEMA requirements necessitates an amendment to our Ordinance for compliance with new standards. Additionally, there were codification errors in the definitions of our current Ordinance, and there was a change in the 2023 Florida Building Code affecting our local technical amendment regarding additions.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of proposed Ordinance 25-030 Amending Chapter 103, Article II "BUILDING CODE" and Amending Chapter 109, Article I "FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT".
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve at this time.
