Approval of a St. Lucie County piggyback contract with Culpepper & Terpening for Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the Avenue D (from 29th Street to US 1) resurfacing project in the amount of $236,298.00.

The City received $1,500,000 in a State Grant to construct the Avenue D from 29th Street to US 1 Resurfacing project. The project includes resurfacing Avenue D from 29th Street to US 1, upgrades to ADA ramps, construct sidewalk on the south side of Avenue D from 29th Street to 25th Street, update existing driveways to concrete per City standards, upgrade signals to video detection, replace paver/brick crosswalks with patterned pavement crosswalks.  FDOT has oversight of the construction with the State Grant funds and the City has requested to piggyback the St. Lucie County contract for Construction Engineering and Inspection services. 

Culpepper & Terpening, Inc provided a cost estimate of $236,298.00 to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection Services for this project.

Staff recommends awarding this contract to Culpepper & Terpening, Inc.

Do not provide Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the Avenue D project.
