Approval of the First Amendment to the Lease Agreement between the Housing Authority of Fort Pierce and the City of Fort Pierce for the premise located at 2304 Avenue I (R.I.C.H. House). 

The Police Department is requesting approval of the lease agreement amendment between the Fort Pierce Housing Authority and the City of Fort Pierce (Municipal Corporation) for the premises of 2304 Avenue I. This property is currently the site of the Fort Pierce Police Department’s Resources In Community Hope (R.I.C.H.) House.  The original lease agreement was approved for a three year term, beginning on October 3, 2022, through September 16, 2025. Lease Agreement extension will commence on September 16, 2025, and remain for a period of one year.  The Lease Agreement Extension will terminate on September 15, 2026.  Consideration for the term of the lease is one dollar annually. 

The contract and First Amendment to the Lease Agreement has been reviewed by the City Attorney’s Office and was approved for form and correctness.

Staff recommends approval of this lease.

The alternative is to deny the approval, which would close the R.I.C.H. House from further operation at this location.
