SUBJECT:

Approval of Interlocal Funding Agreement with St. Lucie County for homeless services in the amount of $125,000 for FY2026

SUMMARY:

In support of St. Lucie County's effort to address unsheltered homelessness, the City of Fort Pierce committed $125,000 in FY2024 to fund operations at the Housing HUB, a 24-bed men’s shelter, managed by the Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council and to help develop a Women’s Facility. Additional funding was included in FY2025. This Interlocal Funding Agreement outlines the distribution of requested FY2026 funds to continue sustaining and expanding these efforts.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the Interlocal Funding Agreement with St. Lucie County for homeless services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The City will provide the County with the sum of $125,000 to be remitted to the Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council to fund staffing as well as operational costs at the Housing HUB and to expand services by developing a Women’s Facility. The City shall remit payment to the County within thirty (30) days of the effective date of the agreement.
