SUBJECT:

Approval of expenditure for the Solid Waste Annual Purchase Order with Sunbelt Waste Equipment for Heil OEM parts and services for refuse trucks, not exceeding $80,000.00.

SUMMARY:

The Public Works Department is requesting approval of an Annual Purchase Order with Sunbelt Waste Equipment for Heil Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and services for refuse trucks in an amount not to exceed $80,000.00.

Sunbelt Waste Equipment is the sole authorized Heil dealer for OEM parts and service within its designated Florida territory, which includes Brevard, Indian River, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, Glades, Charlotte, Lee, Hendry, Palm Beach, Collier, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe counties. Use of OEM parts is required to maintain manufacturer warranties, ensure equipment compatibility, and preserve operational reliability. No other authorized Heil dealers serve this geographic area.

A written statement of exclusivity from the vendor is attached. The Commission has previously approved this vendor for the same purpose in prior fiscal years.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of the annual purchase order with Sunbelt Waste Equipment for Heil Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and services, not to exceed $80,000.00.

Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
