SUBJECT:
Approve emergency replacement of vacuum compressor assembly on Streets Division Vac-Con unit number 26-403 in an amount not to exceed $19,521.20.
SUMMARY:
The Public Works Department is seeking approval of the requested emergency replacement of the vacuum compressor assembly on unit 26-403. This is a vital piece of equipment utilized in properly maintaining the City's storm water system by utilizing the vacuum to remove any obstructions that would inhibit water flow through the storm water infrastructure. Southern Sewer Equipment Sales, inc. of Fort Pierce is the sole source vendor for Vac-Con sales and repairs.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Public Works Department recommends approval of this request to ensure that the storm water maintenance activities continue as scheduled with minimal delays.
