SUBJECT:
Resolution 17-R05 authorizing approval of a joint project agreement between the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Fort Pierce providing for FDOT's participation towards the engineering design for the retrofit of the shell rock trail at the Indian Hills Recreation Area to concrete.
SUMMARY:
This agreement will enable the City to contract a professional engineer to provide design plans for retrofitting the recreation trail at Indian Hills Park. This grant was applied for by St. Lucie County as part of the Florida Shared-Use Non-motorized Trail Network and it has been determined that the City, as grant recipient would be more suited to manage the project. The project will extend from the northern most entrance located at Indian Hills Drive and run south through the Indian Hills Recreation Area to the southern terminus at the FEC spur track south of Savannah Road.
RECOMMENDATION:
Engineering recommends approval of this agreement.
ALTERNATIVES:
Reject grant award.
