SUBJECT:
Ordinance 17-016 Eliminating Compensation for Members of City Appointed Boards. FIRST READING
SUMMARY:
Many of the City boards provide compensation to their members, usually $10 or $20 per month, for attending meetings.
The City Charter states that members of any advisory boards shall serve without compensation. (Charter, Article V, § 51)
Eliminating compensation would bring the City into compliance with the Charter.

RECOMMENDATION:
Eliminate compensation for board members.
ALTERNATIVES:
Remain under current system with compensation provided to many of the boards.
