SUBJECT:
Approve purchase of a total of 20 firearms for the police department which include fifteen (15) - Glock 21 and five (5) Glock 30 SF's from G.T. Distributors Inc., Jacksonville, FL, in an amount not to exceed $10,833.80.
SUMMARY:
Informal Bid No. 2017-022, requesting quotes from the only three (3) glock distributors for Law Enforcement in the State of Florida, with all three vendors responding. The Police Department request authorization from the Commission to purchase twenty (20) firearms - fifteen (15) - Glock 21 with Stream-light, the standard firearm issue to uniform personnel, and five (5) Glock 30 SF which is issued to personnel in special assignments, such as our undercover officers. This purchase is needed to replace weapons, due to malfunctions and shortages.
RECOMMENDATION:
For commission to approve the purchase.
