Resolution 17-R36 Renaming 13th Street to Church Street or providing for a Dual Designation of 13th Street to also be known as Church Street.

At the Commission Meeting on September 5, 2017, several Fort Pierce ministers requested that the Mayor and Commission consider renaming 13^th Street to Church Street and presented a community petition to do so.   As requested, all 190 property owners along 13th Street were provided notice of the potential renaming of the Street and given an opportunity to express their support or opposition.   The affected property owners responded to the notification with 15 in support renaming; 13 in support of a dual designation (both 13th Street and Church Street) and 15 in opposition of renaming 13^th Street. 

The 13th Street Church of God distributed the letter sent to them to their congregation with the following outcome:  1 in support; 10 in support of dual designation; and 47 opposed to the renaming.
 

Consider the community input received and determine the best solution for the community.
