SUBJECT:
Approval of Dock Electrical Replacement and Repair as a result of Hurricane Irma by Florida Floats aka Bellingham Marine in an amount not to exceed $65,009.25.
SUMMARY:
Driving rains and high winds during Hurricane Irma caused some electrical damage to the City Marina's electrical system on the floating docks. The most extensive damage was to an electrical transformer located on "A" dock. All the electrical transformers were wrapped for protection, but the high winds removed one of "A" dock transformer's protection. After the storm passed, the marina staff reengaged the electrical system. After 20 minutes of activation on "A" dock, a transformer fire broke out damaging one of the two transformers on the dock. A temporary transformer has been installed until the new transformer is constructed and shipped to the facility. Other electrical pedestals need minor repairs using new parts to bring the marina electrical system back to the original condition prior to the storm.
