SUBJECT:
Public Hearing for 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP).
SUMMARY:
This public hearing follows a 30-day public comment period for the 2018-2021 LHAP for the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) program & includes strategies the City will undertake should we receive funding from the FL Housing Finance Corp over the next three (3) program years.
RECOMMENDATION:
Allow the public hearing and public comment period then approve the 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 LHAP for submittal to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not provide the public hearing and public comment period and do not approve the submittal of the 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 LHAP.

OTHER INFORMATION:
The budget included with the 2018-2020 LHAP contains hypothetical numbers because the State Housing Finance Corporation has not publicized funding for municipalities for the SHIP program during program years 2018-2020. The City of Fort Pierce is required by the State of Florida to create a budget containing the hypothetical numbers. All of the expenditures for SHIP home rehabs will be reimbursed to the City via SHIP.
