Approval of motion declaring certain properties to be surplus and authorizing Staff to proceed with an RFP for disposition.  

In accordance with Sec. 163.380 of the Florida Statutes, Staff is requesting that the FPRA Governing Board make a motion declaring the following properties as surplus for anticipated disposition.   These are all vacant residential parcels 

At the December 2017 meeting, the CRA Advisory Committee recommended these to the FPRA Board to be declared as surplus, with a focus on the disposition to further the provision of affordable housing.  To achieve the goal, Staff recommends that these be put forth for bid with criteria emphasizing providing affordable housing.  In a few instances, the most likely purchaser would be the adjacent property and a bid process would also give them those property owners the opportunity.  

This list of properties was also circulated to each Department Head, giving the opportunity for input. Their comments are attached.  Code Enforcement and Finance both identified liens tied to previous property owners and we will work with those departments to identify which properties are eligible for lien reductions.
