Selection of Mayor Pro Tem
SUMMARY:
Section 23 of the City Charter reads: "At the first regular meeting following January 1st of each year, the city commissioners shall select one (1) of their number as mayor pro tem. He shall act as mayor-commissioner and have all of the powers and duties of that office during the absence or disability of the said mayor-commissioner." The history is as follows:
