SUBJECT:

Approve request to reduce Building Department lien in the amount of $22,050.00 against 3607 Oleander Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34982 - Parcel ID Number 2433-114-0003-000/7 owned by House of Believers, Inc., 3607 Oleander Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34982 to $750.00 payable in 60 days.

SUMMARY:

The request for reduction was submitted by Syed Shafeeq Ur Rahman, Reg. Agent and Adel Nefzi on behalf of House of Believers Inc. The owners hired contractors to obtain permits to complete the work necessary to safely occupy their mosque.  Fines started when permits expired, which have since been renewed and properly closed out.   

Their original request was for a full waiver of the lien.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Special Magistrate, having heard the request of the owner, and testimony of Staff, recommends reducing the lien to $750.00 payable in 60 days. If not paid the lien will revert to the original amount of $22,050.00.
