- Approve Way to Grow Lincoln Park Grant Award - My Grandmothers' Keeper - $10,000
SUBJECT:
Approve grant award for Tamesha Hamilton, owner of My Grandmothers' Keeper and PeeWee's Place LLC, in the amount of up to $10,000.00, as an eligible recipient under the Way to Grow Lincoln Park HIstoric Avenue D Business District Small Business Startup/Relocation Grant Program.
SUMMARY:
2018-2019 CDBG allocates funds for small businesses of up to $3000. The partnership with Allegany Franciscan Ministries presented grant funding of up to $7000.00 for each small business in this program. This is the
My Grandmothers' Keeper began relocation process from the Sunshine Kitchen when she encountered a grease trap issue. She has already entered into lease agreement with property owner (with expectation of future purchase) at 921 Avenue D, a property which encompasses 2 buildings* and outdoor eating area and does not need assistance with rent. The grease trap installation costs $12,500 and she has already placed a 50% deposit; the grant will pay the balance ($6250) and other costs of other interior remodeling to include commercial equipment, initiation and permit fees.
