SUBJECT:

Approval to award Bid No. 2021-012 for Sale of Surplus Property on Cortez Boulevard (2421-500-0060-000-2) to highest ranked responder, Miguel Aguilar.

SUMMARY:

The City of Fort Pierce is the owner of real property located on Cortez Boulevard, identified by Parcel ID: 2421-500-0060-000-2, with a legal description of: MARAVILLA S/D E 73 FT OF W 384 FT OF LOTS 48 AND 50. The subject property is mostly cleared, rectangular in shape and consists of +/- 0.34 acres or 14,600 square feet.

The subject property was declared surplus by the Fort Pierce City Commission on September 21, 2020 via Resolution 20-R42. The property was appraised by Fuller-Armfield-Wagner Appraisal & Research Inc. on October 30, 2020 and valued at $35,000.

Bid number 2021-012 was issued on December 4, 2020. The invitation was sent to 396 vendors. Ten (10) vendors requested specifications with one (1) responding. We received one bid in the amount of $51,000 from Miguel Aguilar of Fort Pierce, Florida.

In accordance with the Fort Pierce Code of Ordinances, Section 101-23 (4), the Planning Board reviewed the submittal and forwarded a recommendation to the City Commission for approval of the sale of real property located on Cortez Boulevard, identified by Parcel ID: 2421-500-0060-000-2, MARAVILLA S/D E 73 FT OF W 384 FT OF LOTS 48 AND 50 to Miguel Aguilar of Fort Pierce, Florida.

RECOMMENDATION:

Award bid to highest ranked respondent, Miguel Aguilar.

ALTERNATIVES:

Issue a new bid.
