SUBJECT:
Approval of the Interlocal Agreement for the Downtown Fort Pierce Smart City Initiative between the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority, the City of Fort Pierce, and the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency.
SUMMARY:
In October 2020, representatives from the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority presented a concept for the creation of a Smart City in Downtown Fort Pierce utilitizng smart kiosks, smart streetlights and FPUAnet fiber optic infrastructure. With the FPRA Board's support, the Interlocal Agreement was drafted and is presented for Board review and approval. This project will be funded through the use of up to $250,000 from the H.D. King Power Plant Site tax credit proceeds.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Interlocal Agreement for the Downtown Fort Pierce Smart City Initiative as presented.
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the FPRA Board.
