- Memorandum of Understanding with the Kiwanis Club
SUBJECT:
Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Fort Pierce and the Kiwanis Club for a public private partnership for site improvements at Jaycee Park.
SUMMARY:
The Sunrise Kiwanis Club is looking to partner with the City of Fort Pierce and raise funds to construct an all access, ADA accessible playground utilizing Leathers & Associates as the contractor. Leathers previously had a project with the City at Rotary Park. The current playset at Jaycee Park has been there approximately 15 years and is nearing the end of its life expectancy. The conditions at Jaycee Park prove to be harsh on steel structures. The proposed playset will be constructed of materials not prone to rust and oxidation.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the MOU with the Kiwanis Club.
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
