SUBJECT:
Approve request from the Fort Pierce Police Department Charitable Trust, Inc. to initiate an Open Call for Submissions for the Naming of a Facility identified as the small park area at the SW corner of vacant property across from the FPPD Main Station at 920 S US Highway 1.
SUMMARY:
Staff received a request from the FPPD Charitable Trust to dedicate the area to recognize Sgt. Danny Parrish who was killed in the line of duty 30 years ago and for whom no memorial has been established. See attached request.
RECOMMENDATION:
Initiate the open call for the naming of the park.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not initiate the request for submissions.
