SUBJECT:
Emergency Approval to Wilco Construction Inc. of Fort Pierce, Florida to install 12 Navigational Buoys in the City Marina Entrance Channel in the amount of $10,840.00.
SUMMARY:
The Coast Guard has given the Marina 30 days to comply with the navigational safety issue with the City Marina entrance channel.
The Marina has been experiencing over the past couple years issues with boats and construction barges knocking down channel markers. This has been an average annual cost of $10,000 for the markers being replaced outside of the construction replacements. We are replacing the wooden markers with marked floating buoys with the intention of reducing the annual maintenance cost due to marker pile replacements.
