SUBJECT:

Approval of Request to Allocate Funds for the Oaks at Moore Creek Phase II Infrastructure Construction.

SUMMARY:

The City of Fort Pierce is currently observing a substantial deficit of affordable housing and this subdivision will help to bolster inventory. This project, The Oaks at Moore’s Creek Phase II, will extend Means Court to provide a paved public roadway complete with storm drainage facilities, sidewalks, curb and gutter, street lighting, water distribution system, and a sanitary sewer collection system to support the creation of a 15-lot single-family subdivision. The homes will be sold to property owners in accordance with the specifications defined under the State of Florida affordable housing requirements.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Funding of the $722,332.69 will be encumbered from the following funding sources:

$331,882.08 from Road Impact Fees (Account No. 110-1111-519-6310),
$161,283.34 from SMU Fund (Account No. 403-4300-538-3490),
and the remaining $212,542.59 shall be funded from a source to be determined.
