SUBJECT:
Approval of retainer agreement with Matthew D. Weidner, P.A. as outside counsel for foreclosure actions related to code enforcement/nuisance abatement liens under the supervision of the City Attorney.
SUMMARY:
Staff, in conjunction with the City Attorney's Office, will identify properties that are appropriate for foreclosure litigation based on extensive code enforcement history and the accumulation of liens, particularly those related to nuisance abatement. Attorney Matt Weidner handles such cases for local governments and has agreed to represent the FPRA on a contingency basis. The attached retainer agreement details the scope of Mr. Weidner's services and authorizes the submission of potential claims to him.
