Approve request to reduce the Building Department lien in the amount of $15,560.00 against 808 1/2 N 17th Street, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID Number: 2404-816-0022-000/1, owned by Darshan Patil, 871 NE 207th Ln Apt 201, Miami Beach, FL 33179 to $822.62 payable within 5 months.

SUMMARY:

The request for reduction is made by Darshan Patil, the owner of the property.  The owner hired a contractor to do the structural work required to comply the case and experienced delays in completing the work.  The owner obtained the necessary permits, obtained all the necessary inspections, closed all the permits, and complied the violation case.  At the Massey Hearing before the Special Magistrate, the applicant agreed to a reduction in the amount of $822.62 payable within 5 months, as recommended by the Special Magistrate.

RECOMMENDATION:

The Special Magistrate, having heard the request of the owner and testimony from staff, recommends reducing the lien to $822.62 payable in 5 months.  If not paid within 5 months, the lien will revert to the original amount of $15,560.00.
