SUBJECT:
Approval of Interlocal Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County for City to assume marketing, promotion, administration, operation and maintenance of all kiosks and markers associated with the Zora Neale Hurston Dust Tracks Heritage Trail.
SUMMARY:
Assuming marketing, promotion, administration, operation and maintenance of all kiosks and markers associated with the Zora Neale Hurston Dust Tracks Heritage Trail will increase tourism and spur economic development in the heart of the Avenue D Historic District.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the signing of the interlocal agreement by our Mayor once it is approved for 'form and correctness' by our Legal Department.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve the signing of the interlocal agreement.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Funding is available through the City's 2014-2015 CDBG Action Plan to promote art and cultural heritage. We are looking toward allocating additional CDBG funds through the coming years to maintain and promote the trail.
