Lease Agreement for Seaway Drive Temporary Parking Area

SUBJECT:

Approval of a twelve (12) month Lease Agreement between the City of Fort Pierce and the Woods Family Limited Partnership II, for 7 parcels along Seaway Drive that are being utilized to provide additional free parking for the public.

SUMMARY:

The current Lease Agreement with Woods Family Limited Partnership II expired on July 6, 2022, and the one-year extension has begun. If approved, the city will pay rent on a quarterly basis, an amount, which is equal to the total tax bills on the seven (7) parcels shown and depicted in lease Exhibit "A" (Proposed Lease Area). 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval.

ALTERNATIVES:

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.

OTHER INFORMATION:

This expense is budgeted and renewed with the same terms as the previous contract, which is the payment of the annual tax bill on a quarterly basis. The 2021 tax bill for the seven (7) parcels was $27,882.90.
